Young People at the Heart of the Future of Research
Scholarship Recipient
Research drives change, and young people play a key role in that process. Bocconi is at the forefront of engaging and nurturing young talent in research, supported by Donors who share and contribute to this vision. The Tech Europe Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting technological innovation and entrepreneurship, backs PhD programs and research activities in highly innovative fields, including through its support for Bocconi PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. The initiatives they promote include TEF Ignition, which encourages the University’s students to turn their business ideas into concrete projects, fostering the creation of new businesses in sectors with high innovation potential. Alongside TEF, Fondazione Romeo ed Enrica Invernizzi has for years been promoting structured programs to support young researchers, guiding them through the various stages of their academic careers. The PORTUS program forms part of this effort, strengthening the University’s appeal to prospective PhD students, as does its support for the Placement of Excellence initiative, which assists final-year PhD candidates in entering the international academic job market. Also active in this field are the UniCredit Foundation, which works to attract and retain the best PhD students through the Foscolo Top-Up Scholarship, and LEXIA, a law firm that supports the PhD in Legal Studies by offering PhD students the opportunity to undertake a period of study abroad.
