Towards Bocconi 2030

Presented on January 26, Bocconi’s new Strategic Plan outlines a vision for the future, also supported by the strength of fundraising.

Developed through an open and inclusive process involving students, faculty, staff, alumni, Donors, and employers, the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan is set within a complex and rapidly evolving global landscape, identifying key macro-trends to which the University intends to respond.

The Plan defines Bocconi’s development trajectory along three main pillars: rigorous, science-led research; a human-centred approach that enhances those human skills least susceptible to substitution; and a structured preparation for the transformations brought about by artificial intelligence. These directions are complemented by a strong international outlook rooted in a European perspective, the strengthening of student mobility and the University’s ability to attract global talent, as well as investments in the campus as a space for innovation, sustainability, and quality of academic life.

Within this vision, a clear cross-cutting element emerges: a culture of philanthropy, understood not as an ancillary dimension but as a strategic infrastructure supporting academic excellence, inclusion, and the University’s social impact. Promoting this culture means building long-term relationships based on shared values, responsibility, and a common vision, recognizing donors as true partners in the University project.

Consistent with this ambition, the new fundraising campaign therefore aims to raise €200 million by 2030, to be allocated to strengthening student financial support measures, developing research and faculty, and improving campus infrastructure, in full alignment with the principles and priorities set out in the Plan. The latter thus reiterates a central message: thanks to a community that believes in the value of knowledge and chooses to support it, Bocconi can become, in every sense, A Place for the Future.
