Philanthropy Spanning the Generations

The philanthropy of individuals and their families can act as a bridge between generations: it reinforces shared values and fosters a sense of responsibility that is passed down through the generations, making a tangible contribution to social development. In this regard, individual and family philanthropy continued to strengthen its role in supporting the University in 2025, with a particular focus on assisting students and promoting merit.

Among the most significant initiatives, through the Sassongher Foundation, Peter Rutland and Belen Rottonara have chosen to invest in young talent, nurturing their potential and facilitating access to a first-class education. In 2025, Fondazione Achille e Giulia Boroli, a long-standing partner of Bocconi’s research activities, extended its commitment to include direct support for students. Vittorio Bertazzoni, Fondazione Labia, Fondazione Ennio Doris and Emilia Fazzalari, together with Wyc Grousbeck through the WE Dream Fund — established and managed by Fondo Filantropico Italiano — have also renewed their commitment to expanding student support. In this context, Fondazione Labia and the WE Dream Fund also support Bridge Programs, which guide and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds when they join the University, helping to make the Bocconi experience increasingly inclusive.
