Conditions for innovation beyond technology
Alumnus & Donor

Bocconi University has embarked on a long-term transformation journey—innovating teaching, research, and global knowledge sharing in ways that may not always be visible but are essential. The goal? To expand access to learning and foster a positive, interconnected environment—one where humans actively shape technological progress rather than passively accept its consequences.
Care to make an impact? Donors can play a pivotal role, whether through funding scholarships or naming campus spaces like, for example, library rooms or lecture halls in the new SDA Bocconi School of Management. A case in point: Diego Piacentini, Bocconi Alumnus of the Year 2010, chose to name Aula 1 in the historic building on Via Sarfatti 25, the very classroom where he once sat, nurturing his knowledge and curiosity, at a time when the most advanced teaching tool was an overhead projector. A nod to the past, and a gift to future generations.
But it doesn’t stop there. Some donations directly fuel innovation: digitizing historic theses, expanding digital access to academic resources, and broadening the University’s knowledge far beyond its walls. These aren’t just tributes—they’re legacies. Aligned with Bocconi’s values, they’re designed to inspire generations of students and researchers who will add value to a fragile world.
