Leonardo Del Vecchio Students Award

Through this act of philanthropy, a permanent fund will guarantee deserving students with financial difficulties access to an excellent education at Bocconi, opening doors for them to build a better future.

Strongly desired by both institutions, the Leonardo Del Vecchio Students Award fund, with an endowment of 20 million euros, will support and sustain at least 10 young people each year, offering scholarships to those who demonstrate the necessary merit by passing the admission test.

Nicoletta Zampillo Del Vecchio, reflecting on her husband's values and vision, stressed the Foundation's commitment to supporting young people as a pillar of a new and inclusive society: “Leonardo has always believed in young people, their potential and their contribution to society. With Bocconi we share these values and are determined to support the talents of tomorrow, breaking down any economic barriers. I will follow this project closely so that every student knows that we are at his or her side, ready to support them in realizing their dreams.”

Rector Francesco Billari recalled how the Del Vecchio Foundation's act of generosity is in line with the philanthropic vision of Ferdinando Bocconi, the University's founder: “Bocconi was born to have a social impact and to support the next generation. This fund is a bridge between our history and the future, confirming our commitment to meritocratic, inclusive and accessible education".

Thanks to this agreement, students who have talent and ambition, but limited means, will be able to find at Bocconi the ideal place to realize their potential.
