Social responsibility and our third mission go hand in hand with a desire to create a lasting impact, promoting the long-term sustainability of the University’s activities. A permanently endowed scholarship is a concrete example of this approach: these are support initiatives established in perpetuity, with the aim of making them a permanent feature and expanding their scope through the long term.

The donation from Fondazione Leonardo Del Vecchio goes in this direction: the foundation has reinforced its commitment to education by offering deserving young people from low-income backgrounds the opportunity to access a first-class education. Thanks to this initiative, at least 10 students every year, in perpetuity, will be able to embark on their academic journey at Bocconi.

This commitment is further supported by contributions from Alumni Carlo Bronzini Vender and Carlo Abbagnano, the latter through a bequest. Like Fondazione Leonardo Del Vecchio, both have chosen to support the Bocconi Endowment, the University’s long-term investment fund, whose annual returns enable permanent tuition waivers and scholarships. Bocconi University has also chosen to commit to this cause, making the full tuition waiver established in memory of Alumnus Luca Attanasio permanent: this was set up thanks to a fundraising campaign organized by the community in 2021 and subsequently transformed on a permanent and honorary basis.
